Born in Charlotte, NC Bill Taylor has been interested in photography since the age of 10. Being exposed to his family scrapbooks and seeing New York through the lens of his ancestors had an immense impact on his love for image making. Bill studied contemporary and historical photographers from the likes of Irving Penn, Greg Girard, and Nobuyoshi Araki . Bill Taylor documents the lives of his subjects with sensitivity and sympathy. His photographs express his own desire to observe, understand, and reveal the complexity of people. He transforms intimately observed details and events into stories about individuals' lives that reflect concerns and emotions common to all. Bill is currently based in Brooklyn, New York where he plans to branch out into other mediums such as film and sound design.
